giving thanks

In an family where most men die early( most between 40-50) it is not just the years that I am thankful for but the days. my dad was 41 when he died when I was 41 my wife gave birth to Joseph. I have lived 17 beautiful year watching him grow. for this I am most grateful for. it is also 17 more years with the rest of our 5 children 17 more years than I had with my dad. for me this is not only something that I am grateful for but something my children should be grateful for as well. shalom

Hola Lory , Dios le Bendiga , soy Mexicano y me gustan mucho sus comentarios , entiendo poco ingles , pero me deleito en el estudio biblico , y tengo una pregunata y comentario, lei en la bibla , que Dios dijo al pueblo de Israel ,cuando los saco de Egipto, que ese seria el primer mes del anio , y segun entiendo , antes los meses y los dias nio tenian nombre , sino solo numeros , y creeo que el calendario de Dios es perfecto , y mi pregunta seria : porque usan otro dia como cabeza de anio , y porque selebran el sabado , en el calendario catolico ( gregoriano ) pagano , disculpe mi ignorancia , y espero no ofender . amo A Dios y al pueblo judio D L B

Wow! i really like the message of this video. I ttlly agreee that we should not be celebrating this new year, as it is secular, but to look at it to help us get back on track is awesome. And the more i think of it, it really is chassdei Hashem that we have this new year, so far fro our own, because as Lori said, its a great time to do cheshbon hanefesh, and it would not be as helpful if it were the same month as Rosh HashanaH! thanks for this thought!

Exactly my thoughts last week when thinking of Jan. 1st. Got the measuring stick out to see how I was faring with Rosh Hashanah "new year resolutions." Those were a God thing, since he was included in the making of what promises to make. So keeping them, is following his plan for the year. Need the time coast reminders to check the balance scales.
